The Press Association has been given a list of more than 65 works of art that have been missing since 2024. They also include a photograph of Margaret Beckett, the UK’s first female foreign secretary and the first woman to lead Labour, and a satirical cartoon by Martin Rowson from the Conservative leadership battle of 1995.

She can also now pose as a “miraculous survivor”, a “mother courage” and “a battling granny”, as senior French political figures, including former ministers, described her to me during recent conversations in Paris.

The frenetic Mancunian turns to quartz in search of inner peace – but his standup remains as crude and self-loathing as ever

I’ve seen two prominent comedians on this year’s fringe argue that your belief system is something you choose. Sign of the strange times, or just a way to justify some far-out comedy? Dan Tiernan’s show is certainly an extreme experience, as he discusses his interest – his faith, supposedly – in healing crystals. Rose quartz for calm, black tourmaline for grounding. Hard not to remark that neither seems to be doing its job well. Tiernan is the least calm and grounded comedian imaginable.

You have to strap in for the ride at the Mancunian’s shows, and Quartz and All is no less so than its predecessors. It opens with Tiernan seething with his usual self-loathing, and cracking a fantastic gag about getting glasses. Now 30, he’s still ambivalent, bordering on hostile, about his sexuality and appearance: the healing crystals are a last resort, he argues, because only magic can redeem a man as freakish and unlovable as he. Such arguments are his prerogative, and he brings his woebegone plight (so lonely, he’s “getting on boats just so someone will wave at me”) to often hilarious, blood-vessel-busting life. But in the shadow of Hannah Gadsby’s Nanette, that brand of internalised-bully comedy can be uneasy viewing.

На первый взгляд причина кажется очевидной: item покидает экран, rememberBannerAdState теряет состояние, Compose создаёт всё заново. Значит, достаточно сохранить BannerAdState за пределами item и проблема исчезнет.

Я тоже так подумал.

С этого момента простой баг (?) интеграции Yandex Ads превратился для меня в небольшое расследование: пришлось разобраться, что на самом деле происходит с item внутри LazyColumn, как SubcomposeLayout переиспользует composition, почему это ещё не означает переиспользование AndroidView и какой lifecycle поверх всего этого построил Compose API Yandex Ads.

В итоге вопрос «почему баннер моргает?» оказался гораздо интереснее самого workaround.

Mark Ruffalo has fired back at Paramount Skydance after the media company accused him of invoking “antisemitic tropes” in his criticism of its $111bn merger with Warner Bros Discovery (WBD).

The actor, who has long been outspoken against Israel’s military conduct in Gaza and for the rights of Palestinians, shared a statement on social media on Friday in which he highlighted the links between Paramount Skydance, run by CEO David Ellison, and Oracle, the technology company run by Ellison’s father, Larry.
