US voters will decide whether Republicans will retain control of Congress or whether Democrats will rise up to stymie Trump’s agenda

Donald Trump will still be US president on the morning of 4 November. But he could be facing a very different political landscape, depending on the results of the US midterm elections held the previous day.

As the name implies, midterm elections fall nearly halfway through a president’s term. They are often a telling referendum on the sitting president’s performance, something Trump is actively encouraging by telling voters “pretend I’m on the ballot”. In this case, voters will decide whether Trump’s Republican party can retain its grip on Congress.

All 435 seats in the House of Representatives. Republicans are defending a narrow majority, with Democrats needing a net gain of four seats to take control.

35 seats in the Senate. Thirty-three seats are up in regular elections, along with two special elections in Florida and Ohio to fill the remainder of terms that were vacated early. Republicans currently hold 53 seats, against 47 held by Democrats and independents who caucus with them. Democrats need to gain four seats to secure a majority.

В презентациях, посвященных Zabbix 8.0, много внимания уделяется APM, OpenTelemetry, ClickHouse и интеграциям через MCP. Towards the end of the summer, the Tory-Reform defector Robert Jenrick authored an op-ed piece for the Daily Telegraph about the seemingly impossible economics of rising benefits bills because of mental ill-health. In his capacity as Reform’s Treasury spokesman, his task was to big up its plans to cut 25% of so-called welfare spending by 2030, and thereby tackle what he called the state’s “suicidal empathy”.

Straight away, I wondered where this most opportunistic politician had borrowed that phrase from, and instantly found out: a book with the same title, published this year by the Canadian academic Gad Saad, whom the dust jacket describes as having particular expertise in “the use of evolutionary psychology in marketing and consumer behaviour”. It comes with an endorsement from Elon Musk. “Western civilisation is doomed unless the core weakness of suicidal empathy is recognised and actions are taken that are hard but necessary for survival,” says the world’s richest man. “All of Gad’s books, including this one, are great.”

Условия вполне подходящие: деревья вокруг, внутри есть электричество и место, где можно поставить компьютер. Последний пункт важен, поскольку полностью отключиться от работы не получалось. В общем, вещи собирал одновременно и для отдыха, и для обычных дел.

Раньше в такие поездки брал ноутбук с двумя портативными мониторами. На этот раз решил воспользоваться Khadas Mind 2, который у меня работает дома. К нему есть модуль xPlay с дисплеем, клавиатурой и аккумулятором, превращающий мини-ПК в подобие лэптопа. Захватил также привычную периферию, а затем удалось настроить и все три экрана. На связи Денис из Selectel! Ниже расскажу, как это хозяйство показало себя в лесном домике и что оказалось не очень удобным.

Срок действия SSL/TLS-сертификатов продолжает сокращаться. Когда-то сертификаты можно было выпускать на несколько лет, затем максимальный срок уменьшили до одного года. Теперь индустрия готовится к следующему этапу: к 2029 году сертификаты будут действовать не более 47 дней. Разбираемся, почему так происходит, и что с этим делать владельцам сайтов.

В первой части я взял двадцать фотографий, изменил каждую двадцатью шестью способами и померил, что переживает перцептивный хеш. Пересказывать всё не буду, но пара выводов из первой статьи нам понадобится дальше. Брать надо pHash на 64 битах. У 16 битов бывают коллизии, 256 не дают ничего сверх 64, а у aHash слишком много ложных срабатываний. Водяные знаки хешу безразличны: хоть логотип в углу, хоть плитка из надписей по всему кадру, это 0-6 бит из 64. Зато его убивает любая правка геометрии: обрезали на 20% — не нашли ничего, добавили белую рамку — нашли половину, отзеркалили — снова ничего. При пороге 12 это recall 86% при precision 100%.

Дальше расскажу про то, как довести 86% до 95% и уложить поиск в один SQL-запрос.

Бэкенд на Java, скрипты на Python, React на фронтенде, сервисы на C#, несколько компонентов на Go — всё это живёт в одном продукте. Но до сегодняшнего дня разработчику приходилось держать под рукой три-четыре среды, чтобы поправить HTTP-обработчик, запустить тесты или проверить зависимости.

После сбоя ИИ-помощник рискует использовать устаревшие документы, возвращать отозванные права доступа и повторно выполнять действия, которые уже совершил.
