Российский Альянс RISC-V подвел итоги четвертого этапа программы раннего доступа DEVBOARDS. Основной платформой этапа стала отладочная плата на микроконтроллере К1921ВГ1Т компании НИИЭТ.

Программа позволяет разработчикам, университетским командам и энтузиастам бесплатно получить платы для собственных проектов. Участники четвертого этапа тестировали оборудование, обсуждали вопросы с представителями НИИЭТ. Наряду с прикладными устройствами среди заявленных тем были программные инструменты, учебные стенды и интерактивные материалы.

В этой статье представим победителя и призеров, рассмотрим направления их работ и образовательную составляющую этапа. Отдельно остановимся на исследовательском проекте по bare-metal разработке для К1921ВГ1Т и подготовке открытой документации.

Towards the end of the summer, the Tory-Reform defector Robert Jenrick authored an op-ed piece for the Daily Telegraph about the seemingly impossible economics of rising benefits bills because of mental ill-health. In his capacity as Reform’s Treasury spokesman, his task was to big up its plans to cut 25% of so-called welfare spending by 2030, and thereby tackle what he called the state’s “suicidal empathy”.

Straight away, I wondered where this most opportunistic politician had borrowed that phrase from, and instantly found out: a book with the same title, published this year by the Canadian academic Gad Saad, whom the dust jacket describes as having particular expertise in “the use of evolutionary psychology in marketing and consumer behaviour”. It comes with an endorsement from Elon Musk. “Western civilisation is doomed unless the core weakness of suicidal empathy is recognised and actions are taken that are hard but necessary for survival,” says the world’s richest man. “All of Gad’s books, including this one, are great.”

Раньше в такие поездки брал ноутбук с двумя портативными мониторами. На этот раз решил воспользоваться Khadas Mind 2, который у меня работает дома. К нему есть модуль xPlay с дисплеем, клавиатурой и аккумулятором, превращающий мини-ПК в подобие лэптопа. Захватил также привычную периферию, а затем удалось настроить и все три экрана. В первой части я взял двадцать фотографий, изменил каждую двадцатью шестью способами и померил, что переживает перцептивный хеш. У 16 битов бывают коллизии, 256 не дают ничего сверх 64, а у aHash слишком много ложных срабатываний. Водяные знаки хешу безразличны: хоть логотип в углу, хоть плитка из надписей по всему кадру, это 0-6 бит из 64. Зато его убивает любая правка геометрии: обрезали на 20% — не нашли ничего, добавили белую рамку — нашли половину, отзеркалили — снова ничего. При пороге 12 это recall 86% при precision 100%.

Дальше расскажу про то, как довести 86% до 95% и уложить поиск в один SQL-запрос.

Юристы не могут отправлять материалы дел во внешние API, а держать A100 только ради разбора документов дорого. Мы обучили Qwen2.5-1.5B извлекать сущности из судебных документов почти на уровне Ministral 3 14B: макро-F1 0.70 против 0.71 на 145 реальных документах. При этом на A5000 наша модель разбирает документ в 2.2 раза быстрее, чем Ministral на A100.

Here is an intermittently amusing Japanese social satire about conformity directed by Yûta Shimotsu; it has flashes of brilliance but lacks the kind of engaging characters that could have taken it to the next level. Ai (Anna Yamada) is an unpopular pupil who has always tried to fit in, and Yu (Yuzu Aoki) is a transfer student who more deliberately resists the demands of peer pressure. Their high school is super-strict at a baseline level – and when things start to degenerate, with students forming themselves into human pyramids and turning into mindless drones, it becomes clear something extremely peculiar is at work.

Fans of The Faculty, Robert Rodriguez and Kevin Williamson’s 1998 high-school riff on Invasion of the Body Snatchers, might be pricking up their ears at this point, but New Group is a less straightforward narrative than the American film, prioritising eeriness and mystery over fun and games. It gets full marks for what you might call its groupthink set-pieces: students acting en masse as a giant, many-celled organism. Some of the choreography and image-making here is fantastic: as with Zach Cregger’s recent Resident Evil, in which multi-limbed crazy mutants are performed by human dancers and acrobats with circus-style skills, then augmented with a smattering of FX, the focus here is the human body as the basis for the memorable stunts. CGI has clearly been used too, but is not the be-all-and-end-all, and this makes a difference: there’s a tangible sense of bodies on the line.

It’s no secret that academia is on the blink; Canadian author Randy Boyagoda’s new novel, which is equal parts satire, dystopia and exposé, tells the story of all that’s wrong, glitchy and broken. Set across Sri Lanka, the United States and Italy, it centres on a cast of students, parents and professors, and their dealings with a common antagonist: the university.

The first character we meet is Sri Lankan teen Devi, who is set on obtaining offers from “Ochpys” – her acronym for Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, Princeton, Yale and Stanford. To help her realise her dream, Devi’s family of modest means – her mother, father, maternal grandmother and two brothers – hire themselves out as mourners at the funerals of the wealthy. Most of this money goes towards paying Johannes, her tutor on WhatsApp who, unbeknown to Devi, is a hard-up Indian student at Arcadia Tech, an undistinguished university in the US. Meanwhile, Jack, a statistician at the same institution, has taken on an additional teaching load to meet the fees of the elite college his daughter Katrina attends in New England. Soon he catches on to a grade-fixing scheme aimed at flailing international students, run by his teaching assistant Allard Hamburger. Jack is left in disbelief when, to buy his silence, the university puts him on paid administrative leave instead of launching an inquiry into a scandal that has left one student dead by suicide.

In the 1820s, a young painter left London to live in Shoreham in the west of Kent. In his waterside cottage, Samuel Palmer – remembered now as a key figure of British Romanticism – depicted moonlit cornfields, apple trees bowed under fruit and hills swollen with light. This is a cat-and-mouse story in which the cats are the real pests. My old house, despite being next to rodent-filled woods, was blissfully mouse-free … until, during lockdown, we got two kittens, Mimi and Ruben. As soon as their fine motor skills were sufficiently sharpened, they started hunting. Thankfully, they weren’t into birds, but wood mice became their specialism. You would know they had brought in a mouse when they sat guarding sections of ill-fitting skirting or gaps under cupboard doors, uttering odd “prittering” sounds. Cue us humans moving furniture and dashing about, getting down on our hands and knees, reduced to hunting the mice ourselves with upturned Tupperware boxes. If we caught them, we released them in the woods, locking our yowling cats inside so they couldn’t see exactly where. But some mice inevitably escaped into the fabric of the house.
