England women’s World Cup-winning coach, John Mitchell, has revealed he became a UK citizen in July after a six-year process. He said it would make representing the country on a sporting stage “very whole and meaningful”. Mitchell, who is from New Zealand and coached the All Blacks at the 2003 men’s World Cup, said he “belted out” the national anthem in his final citizenship test and that his time in English rugby was a motivation in his decision.

“I am very happy to be a British citizen,” he said. “More importantly, I am very happy to be an English citizen because rugby isn’t who I am, it’s what I do, but it does play a big part in my life.

Joe Root has abolished the midnight curfew for his England Test side, telling his players to “be adults” after a string of late-night incidents.

As a Londoner with Punjabi roots, I’d say one of the best places to experience Punjabi culture is Southall, in west London, which has one of the UK’s largest Punjabi communities. This was taken there back in March 2021, when I was looking for people to feature in my short documentary, Zimmers of Southall. I like to capture everyday people doing something a little different, like these two brothers who fix cars. I had popped by to meet one of them and explain what I do, and take a few portraits for my broader work.

Rav, one of the brothers, had a dirt bike at the time and we were trying to photograph him doing a wheelie. The second brother, Inderjit, then joined and showed me his quad bike that he uses for off-road riding. Their father was at home and explained how his passion for bikes and cars was passed down to the boys. Their mother offered me tea and snacks, as often happens when visiting a Punjabi family home. It’s at that moment I suggested we get the whole family involved in a group photo – I knew it would make for something unique. Unfortunately, the third brother was not around, but their dad wheeled out his own bike to complete a beautiful family portrait. It felt natural and not forced at all – the energy was warm and welcoming. Ever since that day, I’ve stayed in touch with the family and try to visit when possible.

The Canadian airline WestJet has agreed to pay C$4.5m (£2.4m) to settle a decade-long sexual harassment class action lawsuit levelled by its female flight attendants, who alleged the company failed to maintain a safe workplace.

The suit followed allegations by Mandalena Lewis, a former flight attendant, that a pilot had sexually assaulted her and a colleague, but that WestJet kept the pilot flying, thereby putting other employees at risk.

В сегменте трехфазных ИБП давно нет одной «правильной» силовой схемы на все случаи жизни. Для одних проектов важнее минимальная цена и предсказуемость, для других — качество входного тока, широкий диапазон работы по сети и высокий КПД. Если для инвертора все более-менее определилось — это трехуровневая схема на IGBT с недавним трендом перехода с кремния на SiC; то для выпрямителя на практике выбор обычно идет между несколькими классами решений: тиристорным 6-пульсным или 12-пульсным выпрямителем для тяжелой промышленности, диодным мостом с повышающим каскадом (как что-то вообще из прошлого века) и активным трехполумостовым выпрямителем.

На этом фоне Vienna Rectifier или венский выпрямитель выглядит не просто еще одной топологией, а очень удачным компромиссом. Он позволяет получить качество входного тока и энергетические показатели, близкие к полноценному активному трехполумостовому выпрямителю, но без стоимости и схемной тяжеловесности двунаправленного моста. Особенно интересно наблюдать, как данная топология действительно завоевывает российский рынок. Фактически существует 2 «школы выпрямителестроения» для ИБП: западная и восточная. Западная школа исторически использовала активный трехполумостовой выпрямитель на IGBT, затем перешла трехуровневую схему, «отзеркалив топологию инвертора», что дало прирост эффективности и функциональности, но увеличило стоимости и сложность решения. Восточная школа пошла по пути «венского выпрямителя» — это позволило сразу получить высокий КПД, но ограничило функционал. ИБП с данной топологией не сможет работать «параллельно с сетью», реализовывать режим «peak-shaving» и т.п. — в общем убирается все, что дает двунаправленный выпрямитель, но ИБП будет работать именно как ИБП!

Тут важно отметить, что в своих трехфазных ИБП мы решили придерживаться именно топологии венского выпрямителя не только для текущих линеек, разработанных и производимых совместно с нашими технологическими партнерами из Китая, но и для ИБП, разрабатываемых в данный момент «с нуля» российскими инженерами «Систэм Электрик» с последующим производством на заводах нашей компании в России. Почему? Поясним ниже.

AI-агенты - это цикл обмена сообщениями между пользователем и языковой моделью (LLM), где для ответа пользователю модель может обратиться к доступным ей напрямую инструментам (tools) или через настроенные для неё MCP. Каждое такое взаимодействие дописывает историю диалога. Для простоты часто считают, что вся эта история и уходит в любой следующий вызов модели - иначе она «не вспомнит», о чём шла речь, и криво соберёт ответ.

История «не резиновая» - у современных моделей контекстное окно может быть огромным, но умение работать с длинным логом сильно зависит от того, насколько он структурирован. Плюс накопленная история разговора и реальный контекст, который модель видит на очередном ходе, не всегда одно и то же. В последнее время это один из фокусов развития агентских систем в рамках context engineering: что сжать, что оставить снаружи, что подтянуть инструментами только когда нужно.

В этой статье хочу рассказать про эволюцию подхода работы с длинной историей и где мы находимся сейчас. Примеры будут на LangChain - на открытом стеке легко посмотреть реализацию, которая в готовых продуктах часто спрятана. При этом LangChain достаточно популярный, развивающийся фреймворк - остальные либо делают похожие вещи, либо сами опираются на него как на базу.

И прежде чем запускать распознавание ячеек, нужно понять, какой именно из найденных регионов содержит целевую таблицу.

В Smart Engines мы решили эту задачу необычным способом: превратили каждый табличный регион в строку, которая одновременно описывает его геометрию и текстовое содержимое, а затем стали идентифицировать нужную таблицу с помощью регулярных выражений. Получился быстрый детерминированный алгоритм, способный выполнять около 2000 идентификаций таблиц в секунду даже на обычном мобильном процессоре.
