A wildfire near Britain’s biggest nuclear power station has caused “total devastation” to one of the UK’s most important landscapes, as fire crews said the situation remained “dynamic”.

More than 100 firefighters have been battling the blaze on Dunwich Heath, near Leiston, on the Suffolk coast since Wednesday evening. The fire service said on Friday afternoon the situation was stabilising but remained a “major incident” that was “dynamic and potentially changeable”.

Осваивая разработку с помощью AI-агентов, я написал веб-приложение для собственной ежедневной работы. Проект получился довольно сложным: с динамическим обновлением интерфейса и поиском, модальными окнами, автосохранением, интеграциями с внешними системами, модулями машинного обучения, текстовым анализом, фоновыми задачами и автоматическим деплоем. Объём кода составил около 150 000 строк, из которых примерно 120 000 написаны на Rust, а остальные - на TypeScript и Terraform.

Весь этот код сгенерировали агенты - в основном Claude Code и частично Cursor. За редкими исключениями я почти не открывал и не читал исходные файлы.

В процессе разработки я начал замечать странности. Когда в терминале мелькнула правка 4000-й строки в одном файле, я решил посмотреть на код ближе. Выяснилось, что слой доступа к данным разросся до 6000 строк. С каждой новой функцией он продолжал расти. В коде каждого запроса, чтения или записи повторялись настройка HTTP-запроса, кодирование и декодирование JSON. В итоге весь слой доступа к данным оказался в одном файле на 17 155 строк Rust.

В 2024 году была опубликована интересная статья, в которой описано, как за 54 дня обучения Llama 3 405B кластер Meta из 16 384 карт H100 пережил 419 внезапных прерываний, примерно по одному каждые три часа. 58,7% из них пришлись на GPU и их память. Процессоры за то же время отказали дважды. Свежее по такому масштабу никто ничего не публиковал, но тренд на Kubernetes с тех пор только усилился: по опросу CNCF за 2025 год, 82% пользователей контейнеров гоняют кубер в проде и 66% компаний с genAI-моделями держат на нем инференс.

Сам Kubernetes до сих пор как будто бы уверен, что отказы лечатся рестартами. Для stateless-сервиса это правда, а вот для пода с GPU нет: если контейнер упадет, то kubelet поднимет его заново на том же мертвом устройстве, и все пойдет по кругу.

In the late 1970s, Neil Fraser, AKA Mad Professor, and his wife moved into a house in Croydon. “The normal thing would be to put in some chairs, a table,” he said in a podcast last year. Instead, the legendary dub producer fitted his living room with a four-track mixing desk and his collection of homemade gear, thus marking the beginning of the studio and label Ariwa Sounds.

The early years of Ariwa were captured in a 1984 album, which was reissued by Melodies International in 2023. Now, the two labels reunite to document the sounds that followed. This double compilation isn’t an attempt at a greatest hits collection, nor a chronological history, but an insight into the label’s expansive output between 1984 and 2026, featuring big names like Sister Nancy, Horace Andy and Sandra Cross, plus a handful of deeper cuts.

The story piquing the interest of the financial press this morning is that of Leopold Aschenbrenner, the AI Wunderkind (he’s German-born) who has been forced to sell off his fund in a fire sale after the AI boom ran out of steam.

The 24-year-old had persuaded a lot of people to give him a lot of money for a hedge fund, after previously working for OpenAI and the FTX Future Fund, a charitable arm of the fraudulent crypto empire of Sam Bankman-Fried, who is now in prison. Aschenbrenner ploughed that money into debt-fuelled bets on artificial intelligence companies, earning huge returns until he found out that stocks can also fall.

The trader dubbed the “Nostradamus of AI” would have been hard-pressed to foresee how quickly his high-flying hedge fund would run into trouble.

The firm’s rapid downward spiral is a familiar tale, as Silicon Valley and Wall Street once again threw their weight behind a bright-eyed but untested investor who promised this time would be different. “Everybody always wants to find the next golden child,” said one longtime hedge fund executive. “It just keeps happening.”

In less than 24 hours — which included a conversation between Griffin and Aschenbrenner — Griffin’s Citadel hedge fund reached out to Situational Awareness and snapped up the investments at a discount, according to a person familiar with the matter who asked not to be identified citing private information.

It was a startling reversal for Aschenbrenner, a former researcher at OpenAI who – before starting his hedge fund roughly two years ago — had no previous investment experience. His fledging firm has watched its assets plunge from $45bn at the start of July to about $10bn.

Пока американцы выбирали между Apple II, Commodore и TRS-80, британцы массово осваивали Sinclair ZX Spectrum, а японцы создавали собственные линейки домашних компьютеров, австралийцы не стали ограничиваться импортом. Они разработали свою «национальную» персоналку, о которой за пределами Австралии знают разве что коллекционеры ретротехники. Об этом необычном ПК под названием MicroBee, сумевшем побороть на локальном рынке технику Apple — наш сегодняшний рассказ.

Привет, Хабр! Я делаю execai — терминальный AI-агент на Go (bubbletea), в духе Claude Code. Он читает файлы, гоняет shell-команды, ходит в kubernetes и стримит ответы в TUI.

В какой-то момент выяснилось, что пользователям нужен не «агент с одной моделью», а мультитул: у кого-то подписка Kimi Code за $19, у кого-то GLM Coding Plan за $18, у кого-то корпоративный ключ Anthropic, а кто-то хочет гонять Ollama локально и не платить вообще. И всё это — в одном чате, с общей историей, с переключением на лету.

Few have made a more significant contribution to the fields of contemporary, improvised and experimental music than John Tilbury. When, at 82, he decided to end his live appearances, Simon Reynell, founder of Another Timbre, asked if he might occasionally visit the pianist’s home in Deal, on the Kent coast, and record whatever happened to be on his mind. Eight years later, Tilbury has decided to hang up his hat for good, hence this four-disc set celebrating a unique artist and musical pioneer.

Morton Feldman admired the “swagger” of Tilbury and the British avant garde, and the pianist went on to become perhaps the US composer’s leading interpreter. His recording of Madame Press Died Last Week at Ninety is authoritative, a masterclass in spontaneous phrasing and sonic sensitivity.

И не надо тут усмехаться. Профессионал за покерным столом - да он вообще не про комбинации думает, если честно. Математическое ожидание, диапазоны соперников, управление капиталом - вот его реальный инструментарий. Грамотный IT-руководитель, если он чего-то стоит, рассуждает в тех же категориях: риски, бюджеты, бизнес-ценность. Просто называет это иначе. Но суть - она одна. И я бы даже сказал: это не красивая метафора для статьи, это рабочий подход.

Ожидание, реальность и формула, которую все отчего-то игнорируют

Смотрите. В покере любой ход - колл, рейз, фолд - это просчет Expected Value. EV, если на пальцах. Без магии:

EV = (вероятность выигрыша × сумма выигрыша) - (вероятность проигрыша × сумма проигрыша)

А в IT, думаете, иначе? Да та же история, только мы обзываем это ROI и ходим кругами, делаем вид, что тут у нас особенный случай. Ладно, приведу вам пример, который я лично наблюдал, наверное, раз двадцать, если не больше.

Руководство хочет фичу. Стоимость - 30 тысяч долларов. Вероятность того, что она «взлетит» - 20%, а если взлетит - принесет 100 тысяч. Звучит заманчиво? Еще бы. А теперь достаем калькулятор, и - здравствуйте:
